At the closing ceremonies of the Seventh Annual Walk for Breast Cancer, Rocky Mountains, in Breckenridge, Colo, June 26, 2011, Dr. Marc Hurlbert (left,) executive director of the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade, presented a major grant of $90,000 to Peter van Dernoot, executive director, of The Children's Treehouse Foundation. Supporting Mr. van Dernoot were his grandson, Garvin; son Craig ( a cancer survivor;) and daughter-in-law Tara. Avon has been a major underwriter of the Foundation since 2002.
