We are pleased to provide this specially arranged workshop for AOSW 2010 Conference attendees. Because of the extensive hands-on, interactive activities in the training, this workshop will be limited to professionals from 50 cancer centers who are intent on starting a CLIMB® program at their center. |
CLIMB® Psychosocial Intervention Training Workshop Information

Who Should Attend, and Why:
Social Workers, Nurses, Clergy, Psychologists, Child Life Specialists, and Oncology support personnel such as art and music therapists interested in launching a psychosocial intervention, group-support program for children of parents with cancer, at their cancer center. Cancer affects the entire family; and the parent’s stress is reduced when there is a professional support program to help their children cope with their anxieties and fears, while also improving communications between the parents and children. |

Cocktail reception Monday evening, May 10, Goldwater Room, 6-7:30 p.m. Continental Breakfast at 8:00 a.m.Tuesday in Salons 6-8. Workshop starts Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. and runs to 5:00 p.m. Lunch is included. |

Costs:
The workshop tuition includes the formal training sessions, a comprehensive training/programming manual, power-point presentations and handouts, a marketing DVD, activity materials, a copy of our book, Helping Your Children Cope With Your Cancer, A Guide For Parents and Families, copies children’s activity book, Talking With My Treehouse Friends About Cancer, in English and Spanish; a cocktail welcome reception, one breakfast, two coffee breaks, and one luncheon. The special tuition is for those attending the AOSW Conference is $250.00 for the first person from a cancer center; $200.00 for each additional person from the same center. For those not attending the Conference, the tuition is $350.00. Attendees should be intent on starting a CLIMB program. Please note: If you wish to receive a CE certificate from NASW, please add $12.00 for each one to defray their charge. We also issue our own certificate. |
